STS Local Coordinators are field staff who support and keep the communication flowing between Host Families, Students, Schools and the STS Select National Office.
Every Local Coordinator is assigned to specific partner schools to provide personal support, and build relationships. This model is designed to create a positive working relationship for the benefit of students and to build a strong program in each institution. Every student that chooses to attend that school will also be monitored and supported by the Local Coordinator. The focus is to create a circle of care around every student program.
Prior to student arrival, the Local Coordinator will screen, interview and orient new and renewing Host Families. During the program year, the Local Coordinator serves as support and guidance for the Student, Host Family and School, with the assistance of the national office staff. Contact is required but not limited to, a monthly interaction to ensure consistent and open dialogue.
